Bills Khakis

The flat front, full thigh, watch-pocket khaki has been meticulously recreated in there manufacturing facility in Reading, PA. The original khaki is made of 100% combed cotton, twill fabrics weigh a stout 8.5 ounces per square yard of fabric. This fabric provides cast iron durability and versatility year round. Drill cloth quality pocketing, durable brass zipper, sturdy belt loops, fully sewn down waistband and a split seam for adjusting the waist round-out the details. These khakis retain a clean sharp crease for days when professional laundered, or machine wash for a casual look. All cotton twill trousers arrive professionally pre-washed to stabilize sizing and will wear like old favorites from the first time you put them on.

Trivia: British commander Sir Harry Burnett Lumsden is credited for originating khakis. While stationed in India during the 1840’s Lumsden directed his troops to dye their imperial white uniforms with tea or mud in order to become less visible in the desert landscape. The earthy color that emerged was named khaki, derived form the Indian word for “dust”.
